The Robson Groups Table contains data from fiscal years 2017/18 to 2021/22. The Robson Subgroup Table is for the same time period. These data describe the cesarean delivery rate in BC, the population of women giving birth in BC by their pregnancy characteristics, and the contribution to the overall cesarean delivery rate of each Robson group.

The purpose of this study was to validate the accuracy of the primary indication for cesarean delivery in the British Columbia Perinatal Data Registry (PDR) compared to documentation in the medical record.

Robson Groups Table - 2009/10 and 2010/11
The goal of this publication is to provide information to maternity health care providers, researchers and health information specialists on the use of the Robson Ten Group Classification in analyzing cesarean delivery rates in British Columbia. This Special Report examins data for two fiscal years - 2001/2002 and 2010/2011.

Abstract: A population-based study of antenatal corticosteroid prophylaxis for preterm births
National and international clinical practice guidelines, based on the meta-analysis of randomized trials, recommend antenatal corticosteroids (ACS) prophylaxis for threatened preterm delivery. A study was conducted to determine the extent to which current clinical practice guidelines in British Columbia, Canada, adhere to these guidelines.

Projected Frequency of Maternal Characteristics and Obstetric Condition, British Columbia, 2017 and 2035
This report was developed by Perinatal Services BC to aid health planning with regard to maternity and perinatal service requirements in British Columbia in 2017 and 2035. Models based on observed data from British Columbia (2004 to 2009) and simple assumptions suggest that the number of deliveries in the province will continue to increase substantially by 2017 and 2035. The numbers of high risk women with specific conditions will also increase. Health services planning needs to account for these projections, while also entertaining uncertainties inherent in predicting future health care needs.

Pregnancy Outcomes of Women with Previous Cesarean Delivery in British Columbia
This report examined the obstetrical and neonatal outcomes of women delivering in British Columbia between 2001 and 2010 with a single previous cesarean delivery. In BC, the vast majority (over 80%) of women with previous cesarean had a repeat cesarean delivery.

 
 
Anesthetic Complications in British Columbia 2003/04 to 2009/10
This report provides information to maternity health care providers, researchers, and health information specialists about anesthetic complications in labour and delivery in BC.
This report reviews: the association of maternal overweight and obesity with both adverse pregnancy outcomes and long-term adverse outcomes for mothers and babies; the association of excess gestational weight with both adverse pregnancy outcomes and long-term adverse outcomes for mothers and babies; and approaches that can be taken in primary obstetrical care to promote healthy weight among women who are either planning pregnancy, pregnant, or postpartum.

This report was developed by the Perinatal Mortality Review Committee in collaboration with BC Vital Statistics and provides information regarding maternal mortality in BC in response to the Special Report on Maternal Mortality and Severe Morbidity in Canada published by Health Canada in 2004.
