Data & Surveillance

Perinatal Services BC (PSBC) provides comprehensive perinatal information through the British Columbia Perinatal Data Registry (BCPDR), a quality-controlled database containing clinical information on all births collected from obstetrical facilities throughout the province of British Columbia. Standardized antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum and newborn data on all deliveries and births in BC are included in the database providing an excellent resource for health clinicians, health care leaders, health care managers, policy makers, planners and researchers.

The Surveillance component of PSBC provides ongoing analysis of data in the BCPDR to report temporal trends and geographic variations on a broad spectrum of perinatal indicators at the hospital, regional and provincial levels. A diverse collection of reports developed through the Surveillance team can be accessed through this website.
