Maternal and Newborn Care Pathway

The Maternal & Newborn Care Pathway will create and sustain a trusted information resource system that all health professionals across BC can easily access to get the right information at the right time, any time, from anywhere.
In August, Perinatal Services BC (PSBC) along with the Office of Virtual Health (OVH) collected input from our users by means of a survey. 165 people completed the survey. We are very thankful to everyone that participated.

The infographic (click to enlarge) illustrates the breakdown of professionals that completed the survey, their area of practice, and the top reasons why they access PSBC information resources.  Results indicate that the biggest ‘asks’ identified to improve the user experience, include improvement and enhancement of:
• Navigation
• Search engine optimization
• Updated clinical information
• Education
• Data access and visualization
Respondents also indicated wanting to access resources using an app-based solution, and the ability to use multiple devices to do so. Please refer to the infographic for additional details.

This work is ongoing and the results of the user engagement survey will guide the Maternal and Newborn Care Pathway project in pursuing our vision.
