Lifetime Prevention Schedule

The Lifetime Prevention Schedule (LPS) looks at clinical prevention services for people in BC. These include screening, behavioral interventions (advice), and preventive medications provided by a health care provider, based on age and sex.

LPS Reports
The LPS Reports show priorities for these services in BC by examining each service’s clinical effectiveness, population health impact, and cost effectiveness.

Clinical prevention services for pregnant and postpartum women and their newborns include:

  • screening for depression in pregnant and postpartum women;
  • promotion of breastfeeding; and
  • prevention of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).
LPS Graphic Tool
The LPS Graphic Tool lists all of the clinical prevention services that have been assessed from 2014 to 2016. Services that currently have supporting guidelines are on Page 1, and the full list of assessed services is on Page 2.
