Perinatal Database Registry
The mandate of Perinatal Services BC (formerly BC Perinatal Database Registry (BCPDR)) is the collection and analysis of perinatal data to evaluate provincial perinatal outcomes and to improve health care initiatives.
Terms of Reference
Purpose:
Provide the expertise required to:
Produce Maternal and Perinatal Mortality and Morbidity reports and to provide analyses placing such cases in the context of all perinatal care outcomes in the province. Advise on the use of the Perinatal Services BC (formerly BCPDR) data in order to produce summary reports and analyses that will be useful to clinicians, program managers and perinatal committees in BC.
Advise the Provincial Perinatal Advisory Committee (PPAC) with respect to the maintenance and ongoing development of Perinatal Services BC (formerly BCPDR).
Facilitate qualitative and quantitative research in perinatal issues.
Oversee and co-ordinate the activities of the ad hoc and standing working groups (subcommittees) to ensure workplan objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities
To set specific and measurable goals for the use of Perinatal Services BC data.
To conduct reviews of the database reports, advise and make recommendations to the PPAC for the purpose of improving perinatal outcomes.
To advise the PPAC on the production of routine annual reports as well as Ad Hoc reports for planning and quality assurance purposes.
To determine the appropriate processes and guidelines to be used in assessing requests for data access and administer the "Data Access and Release" agreements; to review requests for data access and recommend on acceptance / rejection / amendment of same.
To enlist the assistance of content experts for periodic revision of BC perinatal forms.
To establish links with other professionals organizations, stakeholders and registries to share information and expertise.
